Hi loves! Today I’ll be sharing my experience of the South Beach Diet with you all. This February I’ve done some reflecting on my New Year’s Resolutions and goals for 2019. I got sick and have been for the past 2-3 weeks, this has hinder my motivation to go workout and caused me to eat less. Now by this time we all have some excuse as to why we didn’t go to the gym, why it didn’t fit our busy schedule, meal prepping, etc. Am I right?

I’m finally feeling better from a horrible cough and the congestion I have been dealing with recently. My hunger is slowly coming back and my lack of working out is visible noticeably now. So what am I going to do? Grind. Rise. Get Stronger. Sure we all fall off our goals we set out in the New Year. But they say the “comeback is always greater than the setback”.

With this I’m going to introduce you guys to the new diet I’m starting tomorrow as well as my workout regime I’ll be doing weekly. This is in NO WAY AN AD but my personal journey to fitness and I’ll be posting throughout the plan to show everyone my progress. These are MY own opinions and experiences of the South Beach Diet.

South Beach Diet

Why did I choose the South Beach Diet? Honestly, I’ve been seeing the AD’s done by Jessie James Decker and the commercials for a while now. But, I thought it was all fake and sponsored. I wanted to follow a plan I needed for me. But after realizing my goals are happening, why not try something I’ve never done! I took their quick test to see what program fit me best and read all about it.

Prior, I’ve done diets that are high in protein, low carbs, and combined with a workout regime. I’ve looked at the Keto Diet, Paleo, Atkins, Hello Fresh (food deliveries) and even companies who send you your food already prepared. A lot of work but I always want to make sure what I do works for me and my body. For a whole month of breakfast, lunch, dinner, snacks, shakes, and a guide it cost me a total of about $350.00. I broke it down to if I was buying my own food and eating as much as I should that it would cost about the same. So why not try? The difference is…

Best Part of the Diet

The best part of the South Beach Diet is the food comes prepared to my house. I honestly don’t have to cook anything and it even comes with an app that helps you track all of your food, snacks, shakes, water intake and workouts. For me and my lifestyle, I don’t have time to meal prep.

I tried to set a day apart to cook but things come up and life happens. I would meal prep for a week and then be done or too lazy to make more food. This diet works for me because it’s easy prepared food to heat up or a quick 5-10-minute cooking time. So for the same price, I figured I give it a try and see what happens.

Fitness and Diet

The South Beach Diet helps you maintain your portion control in check. It also works best with an active lifestyle. For my fitness journey, I’ll be working out 4 times a week at my local CrossFit gym with lifting and endurance. I’ll also be doing straight cardio one day, for me mostly likely a 5k jog/walk.

My cardio levels are horrendous and this is what I need to improve. I’ll also be starting back into dance classes so it’ll be an extra cardio session. I’m someone who loves to work out and when I have the proper diet my body can change a lot.

My Experience of the South Beach Diet

I’m doing this for me. I feel when I look into the mirror I’m not as confident as I was before. Not as powerful. It’s due to my lack of working out and my decrease in eating. Due to my sickness, I was eating a good lunch but dinner and breakfast wasn’t happening. My metabolism has shut down.

I set out a goal this year to look confident, feel confident, and embrace confidence. I chose the South Beach Diet because it fits my lifestyle and needs of a high protein/ low carb diet. This post is in no way an AD for the South Beach Diet, I’m just sharing my experience of the South Beach Diet with all of you and hoping this actually helps kick start my butt.

I’ll be post a follow-up on my journey as I progress through the diet. The opinions will be my own and the good and the bad will be shown. I just want you to know, its only February and you still have 10 months to make your goals a reality. Do your research. Find which diet works for you. Get a work out regime that fits your diet and lifestyle.

Again, what works for someone may not work for you. You have to do your research first and be committed! Let me know below in the comments what diet you’re trying and how your progress is going? And wish me luck!
