Hi loves! So it’s been one month into South Beach Diet and honestly, I’m loving the food and how I feel. You can read about my first thoughts here. The meals truly fill you up and I’m never left feeling hungry. Now, I want to be truthful and say I haven’t been heading to the gym at all. But I still have lost weight and lost some stubborn fat. No as much as I was planning but still some.
Meal Planning
Meal Planning is the easiest I have ever had. I literally take maybe no more than 15 minutes to make my breakfast and get my lunch together and I’m out the door. At work, all I need is a microwave to heat up most of the meals. I do keep extra groceries in the fridge at work for some meals. Nothing crazy, just wheat buns, cheese, mayo. For dinner, I literally pop it in the microwave or oven and done. I’ve gotten better at not eating too late too, unless I’m out with friends.
Doing the Diet, My Way
I know when you’re eating specific foods like a high protein diet that the South Beach Diet is, that once you’re off the food, BOOM! You’re back to your normal weight, feeling bloated, have digestive issues. For me, when I started I knew I wasn’t going to be eating ONLY their meals. For example, I’ll go out with friends and instead of ordering mac n cheese, I’ll get grill chicken instead.
I now actually add more protein to every meal if I’m not eating the SBD food. This way, I started adapting the South Beach Diet lifestyle better. For me. I’ll still indulge in a good plain cheese pizza, not get me wrong, but adding extra protein or having a different crust can make a huge difference.
How I’m feeling
I’m feeling great one month into South Beach Diet. I eat mostly the SBD food and indulge a little on the weekends. I’m not on the diet to the only eating their food, but use it as a guide. I feel less bloated, I know my metabolism is better now, because of eating three portion sized meals a day. My body is getting the protein it needs to keep it healthy and burning fat. The bloating has gone down tremendously. My energy is good, not giddy nor deprived. Honestly, it’s the best “diet” I have been on. PERIOD!
Being Honest
Now, I said earlier I was going to be training while doing the South Beach Diet, but unfortunately that has not happened expect with some cardio sessions. As of this week, I’m back to my CrossFit class. NO IF, ANDS, BUTS, about it. I’m back. I know the key to me toning my body is strength/weight training. Cardio is all good but with weight training my body burns more calories and begins to tone better and quicker. I wish I would’ve gone to the gym this past month, but hey life happens. I’m still pushing.
Sometimes, your original plan doesn’t work out and that is OKAY! I couldn’t make it to the gym, so I went for a run instead. Did a pinterest workout at home. It’s okay to change your original plan. I’m upset because I feel my body already could have seen a greater change, but I saw a change. Doesn’t matter how you get to YOUR GOAL as long as you get there.
To Be Continued
Finally, I’ve ordered another month of food and it’s already a week into the food. I’m back at CrossFit and can’t wait to show you all my results. I’m still loving their food. Their app helps you track your progress and control the amount you’re eating. If you have any questions about trying the South Beach Diet out, please reach out to me and I’ll be glad to answer any questions or concerns. Have fun on your weight loss journey. There will be hiccups, wish I would have done this, moments of I can’t anymore. Just keep fighting and pushing for your goals.
XOXO
