A Few Tips For Mental Health Wellness And Making Sure You’re Doing Great

Hi loves! Here are a few tips for mental health wellness and how to cope. With everything going on in the world, I’m stuck wondering how everyone is dealing with our new reality. How’s our mental health holding up? Some days I feel so down and have a ton of anxiety due to the Coronavirus and staying in all day.

I struggle some days to find the motivation to get up and do something for the day. I know I’m not the only one who might feel this way, but what can we do to check on our mental health. How do we stay sane during this crazy time? No one has the answer and we all have different levels of anxiety, but we can try to cope a little with my tips.

One thing I will say is don’t worry about everyone else! People always show the happy, fun side of their time in quarantine. No one is going to show the break downs, the ugly cries, days we stay in bed all day. The biggest tip of all my tips for mental health wellness is to focus on you and you only. Are staying in and just watching tv to make the day quicker, great! Are you trying to workout in that little section of your living room, great! Focus on you and you’ll be on the right path to keep your mental health strong!

I’m very fortunate to work for a company who is letting me stay at home because I’m a higher risk individual to the virus and receive my full pay. My job unfortunately isn’t able to be transferred to work from home. So, I’m just stuck at home without working but dealing with everything. Some days, I’m jealous of my friends that can work from home because it allows them to stay busy. On the other hand, I’m super blessed and fortunate to use this time to for my other job and start other platforms and expanding my brand.

Tips for Mental Health Wellness

  • Plan your day the night before
  • Wake up and go to bed like you normally would
  • Workout – get the right endorphins going
  • Have a drink! One is okay, but not too much (White Claw is my favorite! Only 2 grams of carbs and 100 calories.)
  • Eat Healthy, not just the junk food
  • Meditate – focus on your breathing
  • Schedule FaceTime/Zoom calls with friends
  • Start/Learn something new – a blog, join Tik Tok, makeup/hair style
  • Get fresh air even if it is just for a moment
  • Foster a pet – my dog literally helps me every day because I have to take care of him
  • Stay Informed – Listen to your local news station (my personal favorite ABC World News)

Our mental health is just as important now as it ever was before. Hopefully, my tips can help you stay sane and motivated each day to do something other than sleep. This new way of life is something we’re all adjusting too and just have to show our resilience as a nation to flatten the curve. You have to do what you feel is best for you, if you want to watch movies all day do it! If you want to learn a new hobby, do that. This time is yours and you have to do what is best for you and your mental health. Stay safe and healthy.

We all have different paths and levels of mental health. Some of us feel more than others, others have such bad anxiety and worse. So don’t be afraid to reach out to your friends and check on them. It might make their entire day hearing from you and you’ll feel better as well. Stay safe and keep your mental health a top priority.

XOXO
