Hi love! London has been calling, I’m finally sharing my London itinerary. I know, it’s been months since I went to London and honestly, I’ve just been lazy. But I’m determined to start posting on my blog more and truly stay consistent. So, I should start my London itinerary with I was literally in London for like 24 hours not including travel time.

It was a complete spur of the moment trip and my fellow flight attendant bestie, and I wanted to go somewhere new on our benefits. So yes, I flew with my airline to London, England (best perk of being a flight attendant) but the hotel and sightseeing was all on us and neither one of us have been to London before.

We did have a game plan going into London and I did plan out this London itinerary days before we left so we had an idea and weren’t wasting time. So, my first travel tip is to HAVE A GAME PLAN! This will give you a starting place and you can venture from there. Now my second tip is to BE AWARE. London has two different airports: Heathrow and Gatwick. Both are far from the city center.

So, know when you arrive, you’re either taking city transportation or an Uber into the city center to your hotel or you’re staying near the airport and then traveling into the city. We took city transportation (The Underground train) which was literally 11 Euros the day and took about an hour to get into the city. If you take an Uber it will depend on when you travel but about 40 Euros approximately and like a 40-minute drive.

You need to take this into account especially if you’re flying on the overnight flight to London or the day flight and arriving to London at night. Plus be aware London is 6 hours ahead of us as well. I live on the east coast for reference.  If you’re planning your London vacay, just take some of these tips into account when planning your London itinerary. I didn’t necessarily feel any jet lag, but I also slept the entire flight and was only there again for like 36 hours total.

So okay, we made it to London now what? Where do we go? What do we see? Don’t stress here is my literal London itinerary and a great start for you. Now I will say we walked a ton and missed a few places, so I’ll also include things I wished we could’ve seen if we had more time.

We walked to all these places and of course took all these incredible photos, had a bunch of laughs and did a little shopping. Now did we see a ton in 24 hours yes, enough to make my first trip to London a success. Could we have seen more and done more, yes. There’s so much more to see and explore in London and here’s a list of things I’ll be adding for next time:

  • Tour inside Buckingham Palace
  • Tour inside Westminster Abby
  • Visit the Camden Markets (next famous market in London from Borough)
  • Cross the Tower of London Bridge & tour inside the Tower of London
  • Do afternoon tea!
  • Visit St. Paul’s Cathedral
  • Drive to Stonehenge
  • Visit SoHo and Kensington neighborhoods.

So, like you see there are definitely a lot of place left of the London itinerary but also if we went for maybe 4 days instead of 1, we would have definitely see it all. I love the fact that driving is on the opposite side of the road. I love the people, super friendly and almost reminds me of New York. The memories are forever though, and I can now officially take London off the bucket list.

So, we’re at 3 European/UK countries. Granted Italy is still my overall favorite country to visit, I would come back to London (when they get better TSA machines) in a heartbeat and keep exploring. Let me know if you have been to London and if I’m missing something to add and how your London itinerary looked like. Safe travels and happy planning!
