Ombré Powder Brows: The Latest Beauty Trend & Is It The Same As Microblading?

Hi loves! My Ombré powder brows experience, yes I know its long overdue but I can’t wait to share all about the process, costs, and where to go if you’re local to West Palm Beach, FL. Honestly, if you’re in the South Florida area you should make the drive! The two woman I’ll be discussing are incredible at their craft and you’ll truly leave feeling blessed. For me, this was hands down one of the best decisions I made for myself. I wanted the ability to get up and not look so blah.

Ladies, we’ve all heard it “Are you feeling okay?” when you don’t wear any makeup. Completely annoying and I wanted to do something that would make me feel better in morning without applying makeup. I’ve also discussed my lash experience at Mind Beauty Soul Salon in West Palm Beach, FL. I’ll also share the difference between microblading and ombre powder brow as well. 

Microblading vs. Ombré Powder Brows

Microblading and ombré powder brows are both considered semi-permanent makeup. The expectations of both of these beauty procedures are that they naturally fade out over time. So, you do have to keep up with both. Microblading creates hair like strokes that blend in with your natural hair growth pattern, thus creating a very subtle natural look. Ombré brows is a machine method that creates small dots close together that create the illusion of powder filled into the brows. Ombré brows are still very natural but tend to be more of a bolder look compared to microblading. This was a huge part in my decision. I wanted to have makeup ready brows without the makeup or time spent creating your brows. 

With microblading you still apply makeup to fill them in completely. Microblading lasts 1-2 years before needing a touch up and ombré lasts 2-3 years. Ombré is also recommended for very oily skin types. With all this information I went for the ombre powder brow route but did get microblading strokes in the front of my brows. My Experience 

After choosing which route to take, I did my research one which place I was going to go and the work of the artist who was going to do my brows. I already trusted Mind Beauty Soul Salon with my lashes and saw their brow work for months before deciding to do it. I would stalk both their Instagram’s with all their work for months to see the results of their previous clients and finally decided during quarantine to just do it. They do run promotions from time to time to be on the outlook for them on their Instagram. The price for ombré powder brows is $350.00 and then after a 6-week touch-up for $90.00. Completely worth every penny. 

Wyn took her time during our initial session and gave me the best brows of my life. The 6 week touch up is too just make sure the shade is right, the length, if we need to add more in certain spots and to make sure both brows are as identical as possible. For an extra, $50.00 Maegan can add microblading front strokes to create a more natural look for your brows, which I totally recommend! It fades perfectly into the ombré powder brows and made my brows look like I just did my brows with makeup EVERY DANG DAY!

I literally apply nothing to my brows only highlight underneath. Ladies, you’re saving money here overall! I did follow their aftercare instructions to a tee and even more because I wanted my brows to last and be perfect. The aftercare wasn’t bad at all. They give you a soap to use to clean and a gel to put on them similar to a tattoo. The only issue I had was I couldn’t sweat or get them wet for 10 days after. So that meant no gym or saunas. Washing my face and showing, I just had to be very careful and not put my head under the water which I already did with my lashes.

I will say if you’re very strict those 10 days your brows will be everything you dreamed of! They won’t wipe away or anything if you don’t follow through but just like a tattoo the first days after are the most important. 

Final Thoughts

This was easily one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. I don’t regret it at all. To this day almost 7 months after my brows still look incredible and not fading at all. I don’t put any kind of product on them from skincare to makeup. I don’t need too. I’ve helped fellow bloggers and friends decide which brow procedure to do and I’m going to help you. The easiest way I can say.

If you want a more natural, still have to do your makeup look then choose microblading. If you want a more makeup ready but still natural look, have oily skin then do ombré powder brows. Also, neither hurt as well, I was so surprised with how comfortable and even relaxing the whole procedure was. I love my brows and the feeling I get in the morning waking up like this is incredible.
