Hi loves! Eyelash extensions are they worth it? Over-hyped? Not sanitary. A necessity? Today, I’m breaking down all the myths, facts, and my personal opinion on the getting eyelash extensions. In today’s society, it’s extremely hard to be a woman. We have to be fit, always put together, pretty, skin clear, hair done, nails, tanning. I literally could go on and on.
Ladies, I KNOW! It’s hard being a woman but it’s also the MOST POWERFUL thing! We can do it all: balance 839437 things at a times, go to work sick, and create life. Not hatin’ fellas, but it’s a little harder for y’all to accomplish this. So, eyelash extensions are they worth it? Let’s find out!
The Truth About Eyelash Extensions
I know everyone says eyelash extensions are not safe! They ruin your natural lashes, the glue causes permanent eye damage, and you clean them or properly clean your face. All false! Before I started with eyelash extensions my natural lashes were long and I had plenty of eyelashes. I still do. The reason my lashes look so full and fluffy is because I have a lot of lashes. My lashes are still long, and I get the classic set of lashes. I don’t get hybrid or full volume because it’s too much for me.
How do I clean them? Easily the steam in the shower. I don’t dunk my face under the water but still wash my hair and body like I normally would. After the shower, my face is wet, and my lashes are damp. I run the lash brush through my lashes cleaning them in the process. I also know some girls will wet their lash brush a little and comb their lashes to clean it as well. My skincare routine is still the same, I am just simply mindful of my lashes when cleaning my face.
Now let’s talk about the glue! Yes, the dreaded lash glue. I used to get my lashes done by a different company than I do to now and the lash glue was a little tough to deal with. They would make my eyes water a lot. My incredible lash artists, Deb Dias, uses a hypoallergenic glue and it completely changed my life. You NEED to be mindful of the glue and ask for hypoallergenic glue, if they don’t offer it, find another lash guru! Seriously or go check out my girls at Mind Beauty and Soul Salon if you’re local to West Palm Beach, FL.
The Price Of Beauty & Do Your Research
I hear this all the time is it worth the price. I can’t afford it! It’s a ridiculous amount of money to spend. I mean honestly, eyelash extensions aren’t for everybody. It’s the same for me as getting my nails done or paying my CrossFit membership. It’s an expense I’m willing to make, but not everyone can. What I will say is don’t settle for cheap eyelash extension. Those eyelash extensions are they worth it? Absolutely not! You wouldn’t go dye your hair balayage for $20, you know it’s going to cost money. Same applies to eyelash extensions.
I know a girl (my best friends’ roommate) who wanted to get lashes, now both my best friend and I get our lashes done regularly and recommended our girl. OF COURSE! She for whatever reason (price maybe?) went to an eyelash franchise and had the worse experience ever! Her eye was swollen shut from some type of allergic reaction. Crazy! But you get what you pay for and where you go. So, check the reviews on social media, their website, Facebook, yelp, etc. Be smart of where you are going! But prices aren’t as insane as you think.
It’s about $100-$130 for a full set of classic lashes, more for hybrid or volume then the prices vary for when you get your fills. I do every two weeks because I work out 4 days a week and sweat a lot. My fills are $60 for every two weeks which is pretty standard. You can do fills for 1, 2, 3, and 4 weeks, it truly just depends on you and your lash maintenance.
Eyelash Extensions Are They Worth It?
So are eyelash extensions are they worth it? My answer is yes! Yes, if you’re the type of woman that loves to pamper yourself and can keep up with them. I even recommend them for a big event like a wedding or graduation. I love not having to worry about anything but foundation. I literally apply foundation and a lipstick and I’m wearing for work. No need for mascara, eyeliner, or anything.
So, I guess in my head the money I save in makeup I invest in getting my lashes done. They are safe on your natural lashes and eyes, just make sure you do your due diligence and check out the salon first! Don’t go for the cheap, quick, busy places. Look for clean, moderately priced, experienced salon. Check your lash tech out too!
Eyelash extensions are they worth it, to me 1000% yes! I feel confident in them, I love waking up to my lashes being pretty and done. I do stop from time to time to just let my natural lashes breathe and it’s pretty easy too. You can ask your salon to remove them for a fee or just let them natural fall off. I let them naturally fall off and take a break. I absolutely love getting my eyelash extensions done and if you’re on the fence of getting them, I would take the plunge! Try them out and how you feel! At the end of the day, it’s only just enhancing your already existing beauty.
