Hi loves! What are my reasons to have a skincare routine? Is it bad if you don’t have one? Well, I’ve been getting a lot of questions about my skincare routine as of late. I honestly take great pride when I’m asked about my skin or what products I use. So today, I’ll be sharing all those products with you. How I use them? Price? Everything. Let’s get started.
The reasons to have a skincare routine are as follows:
- To have healthy skin
- To clean your skin from everything it faces during the day
- To prevent acne/breakouts
- To have smaller pores
- To prevent wrinkles and damaging effects from the elements
- To feel confident in your bare face!
For me personally, I have tried a lot of different products. Some that work for me, some that were a waste of money. I’ll be honest in my reviews and these are truly my opinions. The links included are just to help you look at their website, I RECEIVE NO commission.
Just love these products and sharing them with you. First things first, it’s all about trial and error. So I started off with travel sizes (if available) or samples. Also know what works for me, may not necessarily work for you. It’s important to nourish your skin and that’s one of the big reasons to have a skincare routine.
Cleansing my Skin
To begin with, I suffer from acne and still get some breakouts from time to time. For this, I use Proactiv+ 3 Step System. The first step is to help exfoliate your skin by removing any excess dirt, oil and other impurities. The second step is their pore targeting treatment. This helps fight acne down at the root your pores. Finally, the complexion perfecting hydrator. This moisturizer doesn’t clog my pores but helps brighten my skin tone, and fade any post acne marks.
All three of these are in my daily morning routine. I know Proactiv states to use their three steps every morning and night, but for me, it’s a lot. I only use it every morning to wake up my skin and before I apply my makeup. Check out their website for their prices and different systems. I pay about $39 for three months and have about a 6-month supply.
Removing Your Makeup
I CANNOT repeat CANNOT sleep with my makeup on. I feel gross, sticky, and not clean. Because of this I remove my makeup every night before I go to bed. This is my such an important step in my skincare routine, because at night your skin is rejuvenating itself and it needs to be able to breathe. Your makeup prevents that, so removing it before just help your natural skin breathe.
I used to use makeup wipes, but then was see it wouldn’t remove all my makeup and I had to wash my face after and my towel was covered in makeup. It became such a process and wasn’t very convenient. I recently started using Pond’s Cleansing Balm and it has changed my game. Here’s my full review on Pond’s latest balm.
It basically is a soft cream you put on your face and the oil removes your makeup and then with warm water just wipe all the makeup off. This was a complementary trial product with Influenser and Pond’s, but you can purchase it at Target for like 10 bucks!
My Nighttime Cream
At night, after I remove my makeup and my skin is left feeling fresh and clean, I use Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair. I love it because I’ve seen my acne scars slowly disappear. My skin stays smooth, radiant and looks luminous. Estee Lauder has an eye cream serum as well to use with their nighttime repair, but I just apply it everywhere.
After this I use Estee Lauder’s Nutritious Vitality* moisture crème. It helps my skin recharge its radiance. After I feel nourished, hydrated, energized. Plus, it smells great and is so smooth. For me, moisturizing my skin is the most important.
The Advanced Night Repair is about $98.00 but has latest me for about 5 months so far and still have plenty left. The Nutritious Moisture Cream is about $65.00, but they have a variety of different moisturizers and prices to look at.
As you can see, my routine is something that works for me. I do modify how much I put on and how I apply it. You have to find what works for YOU and YOUR SKIN. There are plenty of reasons to have a skincare routine and you have the find the important ones to you and start from there. The Pond’s balm helps remove makeup but leaves skin soft and moist. I end at night with Estee Lauder’s moisturizer. For me, my skin loves to feel smooth and fresh.
The reasons to have a skincare routine are endless, but my top 5 are important. Let me know what products you love for your daily skincare routine in the comments below. What’s your favorite product? Which do you dislike? What’s the STAPLE in your skincare routine? Comment below.
