Hi loves! I’m sharing my laser hair removal experience with you all today and answering all my Instagram questions from my session last week. Ladies, we all know shaving is a LITERAL PAIN and waxing I could never. I used to wax my eyebrows and hated that, I would breakout worst, my skin would feel horrible, and the pain was just no thank you. So, since that experience, I’ve never ventured into waxing other areas at all. I just accepted that shaving was for me. But honestly, all the ingrown hairs, thicker growing hair and even dark spots was horrible. I just wasn’t feeling confident, then I investigated laser hair removal.

My Laser Hair Removal Experience

My first laser hair removal experience was at SP Aesthetics where the use an IPL laser that also has a gel to go along with it and isn’t as painful. It may take more sessions to get the job done, but it’s WAY less painful. I did my full Brazilian with them, and it took 13 sessions for me to be bare, but it was very bearable pain from a scale of 1-5 a good 1.5-2 rating. Plus getting your full Brazilian done is a bigger area and more sensitive in my opinion but very bearable.

My second laser hair removal experience was completely different. This time I went to semper laser center, and they used an actual laser that is FDA approved. This time I did my underarms and omg the pain was different. On a scale of 1-5 I would say a good solid 3. The only good thing was that since the underarms are a small area it took like 30 seconds for each underarm. So, more pain but a way quicker moment of pain.

Questions About My Laser Hair Removal Experience?

Q: How much does it cost?

A: Right now, at Semper Laser they are having a summer shuffle sale, $130 per session which has 2 small areas, regularly they range from $800-$2,100 depending on how many sessions you need. They also offer financing with 0% interest. At SP Aesthetics, they have a monthly membership which can be either $49 or $99 a month (depending on the area) with a commitment time frame.

Q: How painful is it?

A: A regular laser in my opinion is much more painful than the IPL laser, but the IPL takes longer to see all results. I have a pretty good pain tolerance, but I wouldn’t get my full Brazilian with a regular laser. My underarms, lip, even legs I would do a normal laser because it’s not a sensitive area as your Brazilian.

Q: How long to you see results?

A: With the normal laser, I have only had 1 session so far but noticed less hair growing. With the IPL laser, results after like 3 sessions, I saw patchy areas where there was no hair growth and the areas there was growth it was much less growth.

Q: Your preference of laser?

A: Honestly, for me I don’t mind either, but it’ll depend on what area I want to get done. My Brazilian I was very happy with the IPL laser. I would recommend doing your research and book a consultation first. You know your body best so after discussing your options, I would decide.

Q: Did you smell hair burning?

A: With the IPL laser, no burning hair or smell at all. With the laser from Semper Laser, I did smell my hair burning but nothing too bad and only when using the laser.

Q: How quick was the session?

A: With both lasers the sessions were literally like 5-10 minutes. My full Brazilian took like 10 minutes and my underarms took literally a whole 1 minute. Both are quick sessions.

Q: Is there any downtime?

A: There is no downtime with either laser. They are quick and easy, and you can continue to do normal activities. The only thing is to avoid sweating so no working out right after. They’ll also give you a paper with the proper aftercare.

Q: Do you think it’s worth it?

A: I truly do believe it’s worth it. My hair is thick and dark. I have black, Hispanic hair and when I shave, I felt I got so many ingrown hairs and spots, now its hair free and the skin around it is beautiful too. I’m excited to go through all 8 session of my underarms and see the transformation. I feel everyone’s self-conscious about their underarms especially if you have dark hair and the process and price is completely worth it to me to not have to shave anymore.

Q: Are there any locations outside of South Florida?

A: SP Aesthetics are a local woman owned business in Wellington, Florida, but Semper Laser has plenty of locations throughout South Florida. They are also located in Orlando and Houston and are opening more locations in other big cities.

Q: How many sessions do you need?

A: Honestly this depends on you. For me, it took 13 sessions to be hair free for my Brazilian and I’m currently getting 8 sessions on my underarms and will see once I’m closer to 8 if I’ll need more or not. At Semper Laser, they usually recommend 12 sessions to have permanent results. It truly depends on you and your hair, skin color, hair type so you’ll usually discuss this during your consultation or first appointment.

I hoped this helped answer some of your questions with laser hair. I can say my laser hair removal experience has been great so far and I’m completely happy and super sastisfied with my results. I literally bought a Venus razor packet of three and just moved onto my second razor. I don’t shave as often anymore my Brazilian and now im excited about my underarms. I’ll be sharing my journey more on my Instagram account, @thekarengiuliana so make sure you follow along. Also check out other beauty treatments I’ve done and my reviews on them, here.
