Hi loves! Today, I’m sharing my tips for traveling during this pandemic time. Many people I know are taking this time and lower prices to explore the United States and visit cities that before may have been too expensive or too many people. While, I’ll be happy at home and avoiding any kind of traveling at the moment I understand the people that want to see a new city as long as you’re being smart. These are trying times and a lot of industries have been hit hard, but the travel industry has been hit the hardest.

So why not take advantage of the incredible deals? Just don’t do any loopholes. I’ve seen a lot of influencers and people traveling to Europe when they ban US citizens from going there, but they found a loophole. Don’t be that person. But why not travel or have a little vacation during this stressful time. We just have to be smart, safe and not reckless. These tips for traveling in 2020 are to get you thinking and making sure you’re taking certain precautions into account.

Be Educated

Know the rules and orders of the city you’re traveling to. Do they require a quarantine for two weeks if you travel there from your state? Does the city and state have high infection rate? Is anything open or all outdoors only. You wouldn’t want to travel to Los Angeles for a week to only find out most places are closed and it’s still a hotspot in the US for coronavirus. Maybe instead go to Northern California and visit Yosemite National Park. It’s outdoors, full of space to social distance properly and wear your mask.

You don’t want to be heading to Miami either, so look for places that are safe, semi-open and plenty of outdoor activities to do like: hiking, camping, lakes, etc. Plan a trip that allows you to experience the beautiful country we live in, not just a “party city”. My tip for traveling in 2020 is to grab an Airbnb with close friends ONLY and do a lot of outdoor activities. You can rent a boat, go canoeing, hike some trails and mountains, discover a new national park, or even go fishing. Travel with a close small group and do things you normally wouldn’t. Find a new place to see and be safe.

Wear A Mask & Know The Airline’s Precautions

Once you found a place to travel to and one that’s safe and allows you to socially distance and be smart, you need to know what airline you’re taking. Not only that but also know what precautions they’re taking as well. How many times are they cleaning the cabin? Do they require masks to be worn at all times during flight and boarding? Are they keeping the middle seat open so you can be apart from the other passenger. Most airlines are taking all these necessary precautions, but you still want to make sure and verify.

Also please be smart and wear a mask regardless of where you’re going or if it’s forced on or not. We have to all do OUR PART to help stop the spread of this virus. Be prepared to take a coronavirus test (normally 72 hours prior) before you leave and arrive back. Take it regardless if the airline requires it. Flying doesn’t have to be scary now, the airlines are all doing their part, but you can be prepared too.

Bring hand sanitizer in your bag and wipes to clean the seat as well. Wash your hands before and after you get on/off the plane. Bring your own snacks. One of my biggest tips for traveling now is to be prepared and aware.

Be Mindful And Patient

Many other people are thinking just like you. Where can I travel to? Let’s go somewhere that isn’t as strict or let’s go have fun and with the prices. Well, it’s a cheap flight, so let’s go! Right? Just be mindful of other people flying and be vigilant. If you see someone who isn’t adhering to the rules, just say something to the flight attendant or keep your distance from them. Be patient with everyone as boarding times are taking much longer to avoid people being crowded in a small space.

Some people also just don’t feel the need to wear a mask or be cautious and that’s their right but make sure you keep your distance or go elsewhere. Also, a lot people are flying right now to get back home and be with their families and aren’t particularly happy to be in a plane. But they need to go home, so just keep that in mind before you party or decide not to wear a mask. You’re in a new city so they could be a much stricter city than yours so be patient with the workers and employees of local businesses. They don’t make the rules, they just have to try to enforce them.

Traveling is different now and we all have to accept that. We have to show patience when going into new places and be mindful of their local laws.

Tips For Traveling During 2020

It’s a crazy time we are currently trying to navigate through, but we all have to do our part to help stop the spread. If you want to travel, use these tips for traveling during 2020 to help you decide where to go and do. Be smart about where you visit, know all the precautions your airline is or isn’t taking and wear a mask. Most importantly, be mindful and patient. Boarding, airport security it all takes much longer now due to the safety protocols in place. Just relax. Give yourself plenty of time.

The city you’re exploring is trying their best to let people come and visit so be patient with the employees of local businesses and citizens. Don’t be a jerk because you’re on vacation. The biggest tips for traveling in a pandemic environment are to be extremely safe and cautious. To have fun but be smart and prepared. Honestly, what I most recommend is to explore your own state, find a new place you can drive to, rent an Airbnb and have fun.
