Hi loves! Is it time to update your skincare routine? Are you suffering from the quarantine blues? You know, like not being able to go to the spa, the tanning salon, your nail salon, etc. I know I am. My lashes are gone, I’m back to biting my nails, no facials, no spray tans. My skin is breaking out which is normal because we’re stuck at home and it adds a level of stress.
How do we fix it? How do we manage it? I’m here to help and share my insights on what I’ve been doing to help keep my skin as clean and clear as possible. So today, I’m sharing my updated routine but you can see my old skincare routine for a simple, quick routine.
First, I bought a facial steamer and cleansing brush off Amazon as well as a blackhead remover pore vacuum and a razor designed for exfoliating and dermaplaning the skin. I know we’re trying not to spend money during this time, but a girl has to keep her skin healthy and clean. But these products were not expensive at all and you can find cheaper version.
I’ve always used Proactiv+ as a cleanser and moisturizer. I’m also using the Kylie Skin line up as well. Since we’re all stuck inside, I’m been trying super hard to clean my skin every morning and night as well as not wearing much if any makeup.
Skincare Routine
- Wet your skin and clean with Kylie Skin Foaming face wash
- Kylie Skin Walnut scrub to buff away dead skin cells but only on my forehead and chin area
- Pat skin to remove the excess water
- Cleanse the skin with Proactiv+ and an Amazon cleansing brush to get into the pores
- Finish with Proactiv+ Pore targeting treatment and complexion perfecting hydrator
- Next is my favorite part. . . STEAM STEAM STEAM (10-20 minutes)
- After the steam, I add a little more of the Proactiv+ hydrator
- Blackhead Remover Pore vacuum is next to remove anything left in my now opened pores
- Kylie Skin Vanilla Toner and Vitamin C serum
- Finish with Kylie Skin Moisturizer and Eye Cream
I do this every Sunday to keep my skin clean and clear. During the week it’s much simpler, just wash with Proactiv+ treatment in the morning and at night. I tend to give my skin a break during the week and will use the Kylie Skin products or Codex. I do this about 3 times a week. I’ve been using Codex’s Exfoliating wash and Skin Superfood Moisturizer. The moisturizer really leaves my skin feeling soft and glowly but the smell isn’t my favorite, but I truly love their exfoliating wash. It leaves my skin clean, fresh and smooth.
Should You Update Your Skincare Routine?
During this time, I’ve tried super hard to stay on track with my skincare routine. Normally, there’s so many reasons I’m not consistent with my routine but now I feel like there’s no reason. The importance of skincare is being consistent. Find what works best for you and a day you love to do an entire routine. Do you need to update your skincare routine? I recommend a facial steamer because it can help open your pores and clean them. Just be consistent and watch your face glow!
If you feel that your skin has gotten worse during this time, it’s okay to update your skincare routine! Maybe that means just adding an extra moisturizer, a face mask, etc. Update your skincare routine to YOUR NEEDS, not just because everyone else is doing it! Make it a part of your self care Sunday and have a glass of wine!
XOXO
