Hi loves! Are you planning a quick weekend trip? Are you trying to figure out what exactly you’ll need to bring? I’ll be showing you today what I carry in my weekend bag. You can be heading to a girl’s trip in Orlando, a staycation in Miami or even a weekend at the beach?
I’ll be the first to admit, I NEVER pack light. I’m the over packer EASILY. I tend to take so much clothes and shoes that I’m always checking in a bag instead of just taking a carry on. I’ve gotten better over the amount of times I travel. Now I can honestly say I take a good size weekend bag (carry on) for a quick weekend trip and my packing is on point now.
My Bag
I’ve been using the Jessica Simpson Collection Luggage collection as my weekend bag. I love her unique styles so I can differentiate my bag from others since I was always checking it in. It’s super cute, chic, and fits in the overhead bin easily. You can fit a lot of items in there as well. I bought it during a sale and got the whole 5-piece collection for only $120.00. If you’re thinking of buying from the JS collection, I recommend waiting for a sale time usually during the holidays to buy your weekend bag.
What To Pack
- Travel Snacks
- Blue Light Blocking Lenses – definitely A MUST to protect your eyes especially in flight.
- Cute Purse
- Headphones
- Medication
- Portable Charger
I love snacking during the flights, when I travel I do let myself have a sugary snack. Something, like Sour Patch Kids, Mike & Ike’s for some healthy alternatives I take a Quest Bar (cookies and cream my favorite) or fruit snacks. My FAVORITE blue light blocking frames come from DIFF Eyewear, super stylish and chic and you can get them with your prescription now. I have a referral link for you loves here.
A cute small purse is needed because you can pack your cards and phone in there but also use it when you’re out. I recommend a simple black cross body like this one from Forever XXI. Headphones are a must to watch TV/movies. (I haven’t jumped on the Air Pod wagon yet) A portable charger is to make sure your phones and electronics are full on battery to take photos full of memory.
My Favorite Products
- Nivea Lotion
- Function of Beauty shampoo and conditioner
- Living Proof Dry Shampoo and Flex Hair Spray
- Razor
- Estee Lauder Vitality 8 Moisturizer
- Perfume Roller/ VS Spray
I’ve recently switched to Function of Beauty’s product to customize my own hair shampoo and conditioner; my review will be out soon. But I love taking it with me to keep my hair at its best. For dry shampoo and hair spray I always use Living Proof. A razor for the emergency shaving since you’re in a bikini probably all weekend. Moisturizer to keep my skin smooth and I love Nivea’s Shea Daily Moisture body lotion.
- Wet Hair Brush
- Ponytails
- Clips
- Curling Wand
- Chi Hair Straightener
For my hair, I love to use the Wet Hair Brush. It can be used to brush your hair while its wet without pulling and hurting your hair. It gets out knots without harming your hair, a true detangler. Truly the best brush, then just blow dry your hair after or air dry. Use a different brush if you are blowing out your hair. It’s not the best with heat. The curling wand I use is Bombay Hair, you can use my code “KARENB30” for 30% off and hair styling tool. The best wand for curling my hair and it holds. My hair straightener is CHI, the absolute best.
- Workout Travel Clothes (for flying- you can be stylish and comfy)
- PJ’s
- Travel Hat- either a floppy sand hat or my go to favorite caps.
- Swimsuits
- Sandals
- Wedges/Heels
Sandals are a must for a summer vacation. I love wedges because it’s a combination of both heel and sandals. For swimsuits, you can look here for some of my favorite brands. For the beach though, you do need flat sandals. I love JS Collection and LC Lauren Conrad for mine.
Before You Pack
Before you pack and head out, make sure you check the weather! Bring a dirty clothes bag to separate the dirty clothes from mixing with your clean clothes. I also recommend bringing your jewelry in a little holder, so they don’t get ruined.
So when you’re getting ready to pack from your weekend trip, here’s what you should have in your weekend bag. Pack all your essentials and enjoy your time! Whether you’re traveling for a girl’s trip, 4th of July, or even to the hot Florida beaches, you’re ready to go. Enjoy your weekend trip!
