Hi loves! Red-eye flight tips, we need them! What do you do?Your next travel date is set. You picked the city, the hotels, the places to visit, and just bought the flight. Then you realize that your flight has a redeye included in it. “What the ****!” probably goes through your head. Maybe you’ll said, “I’ll manage to survive.” Red-eye flights are tough, draining and exhausting on your body. Here are my red-eye flight tips to help get you through it.
In-Flight Essentials
First on my red-eye flight tips, are you must have water on board and a little snack probably not candy because of the sugar. You want to be able to sleep and not stay awake. Headphones because based on the time, you may not want to fall asleep right away or you fall sleep quicker watching a movie or listening to music.
All my redeyes from Denver, Las Vegas and Los Angeles left at around 7pm or 9pm PST and arrived in Florida at about 4-6am EST. Take into account for the time change too, flying from Paris the red eye was easier for me because I just slept for longer time at home or had the “extra time” to recover. Bring a neck pillow, because you’ll want to be as comfortable as possible and fall asleep not just wake up every 30 minutes to an hour.
Beauty Hacks
My beauty hacks if you’re landing, changing and heading straight to the office is to have makeup removing wipes, moisturizer, eye patches, and makeup. The makeup removing wipes help to clean your skin and also let you feel refreshed from the flight.
Moisturizer to brighten up your skin and let you feel clean. Eye patches to make the “no sleep” or bags under the eyes not look as bad. Makeup is the basics. Foundation, concealer, eyeliner and mascara. Maybe a lipstick? You can also check out my other post for more travel essentials.
Heading To Work?
If you’re heading into the office, then you need to make sure you’re hydrated during the day. Buy Smart Water because it has electrolytes to help keep the energy level up. Get a sugary drink/coffee/candy to keep your energy up and going. You’ll already look awake, now it is just a mental game to act awake. I know you’ll be tried but just think 8 hours and then you can head home. If you need to get more sugar in you, go do so. This is an exception to the healthy rule.
Heading Home?
If you’re heading home, the most important of all red-eye flight tips is to keep your routine as normal as possible. Don’t just fall asleep because you’ll waste the day and you’ll throw off your body. You have to adjust to the new time zone and it’ll be rough but you have to just focus and do it. Head to a workout, have a well-balanced breakfast to help your natural energy up. Grab a smoothie and focus on a task to prevent you from falling asleep.
In the end, red eye flights are the worst but with my red-eye flight tips you should be prepared to conquer the flying. They are physically and mentally exhausting. You’ll feel like your body isn’t yours. Almost in a drunken state. Tough right, but these flight do tend to be cheaper and also allow you to get the most out of your trip while returning to work the next day.
I recommend these flights when you are younger, because you can adapt, fight through the fatigue, and just work. The older you get the more wear your body has and it becomes harder to just hop off the plane and drive into work. What you have in your travel bag is super important as well.
Enjoy your travels. Use this red-eye flight tips to fight through the tiredness. Until next flight loves.
XOXO
