Hi loves! I’m being inspired by the city and sharing a girl’s getaway to New York City. The city that never sleeps! Where you meet all kinds of people, explore so many sites, and can honestly be YOURSELF. Every time I’m in the city, I feel the energy, the love, the passion it has to offer. I definitely recommend NYC as a top city to visit in the East Coast but you can check out other cities I’ve been to as well here.

Food:

In New York City, there’s endless places to grab a bite. I recommend to look up some spots prior in case you need a reservation. Some places to stop by for a getaway to New York City are Milk Bar (great treats) and behind is Momofuku (basically an AMAZING version of Chic-fil-a), any hole in the wall Pizza joint, and then all the little places in the different boroughs/towns. Find your inner foodie and enjoy the different type of cuisine this city has to offer.

And PLEASE! PLEASE! Whatever you do, don’t eat at everyday food chains. Go and try new places, the food in NYC is like no other. The nightlife bar scene is also beautiful and the views from the rooftop ones. Incredible!

In the City

Obviously, New York City is known for being iconic and some of the best places to visit are these iconic buildings. My girl’s getaway to New York City involves some major places to get photos for the Instagram.

Grand Central Terminal is absolutely STUNNING and maybe, just maybe you’ll find Serena Van Der Woodsen. Ha-ha! Right near Grand Central is the Chrysler Building another beautiful sight. Iconic? Nothing is more iconic then the Empire State Building and the Flat Iron Building. Then there’s the beauty of the lights and sounds of Times Square and let’s not forget about the Met and Central Park.

You can’t forget about Fifth Ave. and all the windows of the stores are completely decorated. You also have amazing pop-ups and events happening all over the city. I came to the city the same time, Jessie James Decker, was doing an autograph signing! AMAZING!!!

They have the Rose Mansion, the Color Factory, and other events during certain months. The various types of museums available to the public and some aren’t that expensive either. So keep an eye out on social media or even sites like thrillist to be on top of the fun spots.

Places to Make the Drive too

Brooklyn. From the Bridge, to Dumbo, to its parks. I doubt you’ll find Lonely Boy, but hey a girl can dream. They say, “Brooklyn is becoming the new Upper East Side…” I feel Blair Waldorf might disagree, but it’s definitely come a long way. The Bronx. New York Yankees. Grab a game during the season, no one gets more hyped then the fans of New York, especially with these baby boomers taking over.

Not a Yankees fan, well that’s a problem, but there’s plenty other sports and events at Madison Square Garden. Not a sports fan, well Broadway is your place for a show (I hear Mean Girls is fun and the obvious Hamilton) or the West Side for some spectacular Ballet and Performing Arts. They always have something, but it’s best to buy ahead. No girl’s getaway to New York City is complete without dressing up and heading to Broadway.

The City that Never Sleeps

At the end, New York City has something to offer for anyone and everyone. Not only does this city have a gazillion things to see and eat, but it has something for you that’ll open your soul. New York City never sleeps because all the personalities in the city keep it alive at all the hours.

Right now, I’m preparing to walk in my first ever runaway show as a part of New York Fashion Week. A dream come true to me and can’t wait to share it so soon loves! Tomorrow, I’ll be celebrating my first show, my 26th birthday and my friend’s engagement all while going from place to place and just run all over this beautiful city. This city never sleeps, and you shouldn’t either while you’re here.
