Prepare For Your Next Trip With These 5 Tips

travel, trips, vacation, beach, sun, water, France, Paris, Italy, Venice, Chicago, New York, New Jersey, football, baseball, USA

Hello loves! Prepare for your next trip with my top five tips! I’ve traveled far and enough times to know the TSA rules like the back of my hand and what I need for myself to keep my daily routine as close as possible.

I think the biggest thing when traveling is realizing how much products a girl truly wears daily. Besides makeup, many women use a facial scrub, moisturizers, skin lotion, masks, creams, etc. It’s truly a lot of stuff and the normal bottles are definitely over the 3oz allowance of TSA. Packing outfits is enough of a stressor, but now worrying about your daily skin routine? A NIGHTMARE!

Luckily, I have 5 tips to help you feel less stressed about packing and more at ease and ready to get on the plane. ENJOY! These 5 tips literally help so much as you prepare for your next trip.

Tip 1: Plan Ahead

Many of us leave packing until literally the night before. I still do this at times. I’ve learned that when I give myself time to pack my outfits I’m more likely to not bring 9130974587893 extra pairs of clothing. I planned out each day of my vacation. Give yourself that extra couple days to look at your closet, decide your outfits and then bring like an extra pair of clothes in case. You eliminate bringing literally a 50-pound luggage and 30-pound carry on and hauling it all over the Venice canals. (That was a fun day!) This is my biggest tip to help you prepare for your next trip.

To be fair, I was 22, unexperienced at traveling and really indecisive about my clothing. LESSON LEARNED. I know it’s hard but if you’re traveling to Europe, try to fit it all in one bag. Whether it’s a luggage piece to carry on or bigger. It’ll be WAY easier to haul around Europe when it’s just you, your backpack and ONE piece of luggage.

Tip 2: Travel Sizes

You can now go to Sephora, Ulta and even CVS and Target and get travel size for a lot of name brand products. I posted about my favorite Living Proof products on this post, and literally wished they would have travel sizes. One day, I went into Ulta and while waiting in line I saw they actually offer Living Proof products in a travel size. Of course, I was beyond excited and bought like 2 bottles of everything.

For your facial products, you can use travel bottles and just put enough in them to last you the days of your travel. You can even find some online at Amazon. Body washes, hair spray, makeup remover and all the hygienic products can be found at Target. I live for their travel aisle. Make sure you bring what you need but keep it underneath the 3oz. allowed.

Tip 3: Buy a Cute Backpack

This is my favorite one! I love shopping for a new bag or laptop case that I can use as my purse to go through TSA. Currently love to use two different backpacks. One is a cute black one I bought at Forever XXI that was about like 40 dollars. Below I have listed some different cute bags from Amazon. My current laptop case and backpack being used are from Kate Spade. (RIP QUEEN)

Both cost a bit more but they fit everything I need!!! I recommend investing in a backpack because it can fit everything, pass as a bag, and goes great with any outfit. For bloggers, I need to be able to have a phone charger, lights, tripods, cameras all in my bag so it’s the best thing to travel with instead of a small handbag.

Tip 4: Makeup

The hardest part about traveling is making sure I have all my makeup packed and everything I need. Most cosmetics have no problem fitting the requirements of TSA, but I always check that my foundation is under the 3 oz. mark or try to find the sample sizes. I use Smashbox’s photo finish foundation and its under 3 ounces. Some foundations are not, but head to Sephora and ask about their sample sizes or even their website you can even buy some products on Amazon. Now that your makeup is all set. Where do you put it all in?

I always had such a hard time finding the perfect travel makeup bag. I would use different bags and they never could fit all I wanted to bring. My brushes would get smashed under the products. My pallets would have to go elsewhere or with me. I went on Amazon and found some bags with different pockets and a place of your brushes to keep them safe and clean.

The pallets can stand on the inside perfectly because it’s a bit bigger. This can fit perfectly in your luggage or depending on your travel bag, it can fit nicely underneath all the chargers, wallets, and snacks. I personally love bringing my makeup with me in my travel bag. Mostly because I know I won’t throw it around and keep it upright.

Tip 5: Have FUN!

My final tip is to have fun! Honestly, packing and getting every outfit ready and planning your trip out is exhausting and stressful enough, now it’s time to just have fun and enjoy the trip. You’re about to explore a new city, a new country, and make wonderful memories. You’ve done the packing, your clothes are chosen, your tickets are bought and now just enjoy the moment. These 5 tips will help you prepare for your next trip!

I’ve caught a game Wrigley Field. Walked up and down the Spanish Steps. Made it to a show at Moulin Rouge. Cheered alongside the outnumbered Dallas Cowboy fans at MetLife Stadium. Soaked up the sun in paradise and even rode a gondola.

Those moments have stayed with me ever since. I’ve had my family and friends next to me at all these memorable moments. And I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

Las Vegas, 25, birthday, celebration, sin city, Nevada, Aria Resort and Casino, hotel, drinks, travel, Wynn Hotels, Rose.Rabbit.Lie, Cosmopolitan, Chandelier Bar, nightlife, Hakkasan, Omnia

With that, I hope I made your next trip a bit less stressful. Give yourself the time to prepare for your next trip and all the stress will disappear. Most importantly, get ready to enjoy a new chapter of your story.

Omg I always leave packing to the last minute! I always hate myself for doing that because I get so stressed about forgetting something especially if I’m going to a country where I know they probably won’t. have the brands I’m used to!

Omg !! I totally agree, I do it from time to time too and hate it. I feel it adds so much stress I don’t need. Haha

Cool tips! I also love to keep more time for packing essentials. Empty travel bottles and small containers really helped a lot for keeping facial products. I think I should give a bit more attention on makeup essentials as well, hehehe

I also travel with a backpack, although it also serves as a diaper bag 🙂 When the kiddos get bigger, I’d like to invest in a Kate Spade backpack, too.

    • June 11, 2018 / 8:11 pm

Awh yes! The diaper bag is much more important right now! Yes once they’re old enough DO IT! 😀☺️

These are all great tips. Another thing that really helps me have an easy time on a trip is to pack carry-on whenever possible- knowing that I don’t have to worry about the airline losing my luggage is a huge stress reliever!

    • June 11, 2018 / 11:44 pm

Totally agree with you! Especially if you’re traveling somewhere new like overseas!

Thanks for sharing those great tips. I learned the wrong way about travel size when they took away our toothpaste, lotion, and perfume as they were too big to be in our carryon.

    • June 24, 2018 / 9:43 am

Omg I had that happen too with my face wash! Since then, I’ve always watched every size! Haha
